Rates are variable depending on the event, the travelling distance, length of time, and type of program requested. For service groups, I often wave the speaking fee in exchange for an opportunity to sell books at the event. Favorite topics: Jewish Colony of Cotopaxi, 1896 Cripple Creek, Sand Creek Massacre, oh, and writing!
For schools and other groups, I'm a retired teacher and love finding ways to excite both adults and children about writing.
Many schools work with their parent teacher group or other community groups to sponsor an author visit. The best thing to do is to contact me so that I can understand your needs and best meet them.
Again, pre-selling author copies is one way to lower the cost of a school visit.

Nancy does workshops with students and classes on all aspects of the writing process and can tailor lessons to meet individual school and classroom learning goals.
She also likes to use her historical fiction books to connect students to the past. Using old photographs and artifacts, students learn about Colorado history and the research behind historical fiction novels.
